Me and my group of comics artists here in San Pablo City have organized a San Pablo Comics Art Festival which features more than 150 pieces of original comic book art from the likes of Whilce Portacio, Leinil Yu, Wilson Tortosa, Carlo Vergara, myself, Carlo Pagulayan, Gilbert Monsanto, Ed Tadeo, Rudy Florese, and feaures 30 or so more of full size hi res facsimiles of the works of Francisco V. Coching, Alex Ni?o, Nestor Redondo, Alfredo Alcala, Rudy Nebres, Sonny Trinidad, Clem Rivera, Tony Velasquez, Nestor Infante, Dante Barreno, and Art Geroche.
Guests include Leinil Yu, Carlo Vergara, Carlo Pagulayan, Wilson Tortosa (pare we're counting on you! he.he.), Edgar Tadeo, and I'm trying to get more to come. Announce ko soon.
There is an on the spot art contest (you have to be there at 8am to join though), face painting, portfolio reviews, comics signing, singing, drinking (tubig), and best of all...
ADMISSION IS FREE!! Pamasahe nga lang gastos ng mga taga Maynila. Pero nakapasyal naman kayo! Tama na muna Mega MEGAMALL! Back to nature muna! :)
Some of you may be asking...BAKIT SAN PABLO? ANG LAYO NAMAN!! Sa totoo lang, we're doing this to bring awareness to one of the best things one can visit in the Southern Tagalog Region and it's San Pablo City's seven lakes, the largest of which is Sampalok Lake, next to which we will be holding the festival. The view is great, you can hang out..and you guys may never want to leave. :)
